Up until today, the flybar and all its associated mechanical parts in the rotor head were indispensable components of the helicopter. Now this entire system can be replaced by an electronic set-up, the Virtual Flybar System (“V-Bar”).

The V-Bar Control Panel is connected directly to the V-Bar via cable and allows you to program the V-Bar with necessary data such as initial set-up and parameter adjustment right at the flying field. The panel features an ergonomically correct turning knob and push button which have been integrated for easy operation, an SD card for loading model data or updating set-up software, and a high-contrast display which is readable even in bright sunlight. The SD card can also be used to transfer model data to another pilot’s helicopter.

Applications:

- Ideal as a training aid for the beginner. When set to maximum stabilisation, the system makes it possible to learn the art of helicopter flying without outside help.

- Safety function for advanced and scale model pilots: reduced crash risk (emergency knob).

- Ideal assistance for long-range flying, and when manoeuvring in cramped conditions.

This has the same characteristics as the HeliCommand 3A, but also features:

attitude stabilisation in inverted flight;

switchable support for brief 3-D manoeuvres.

In addition to all the functions of the Heli-Command 3D, this variant provides stabilisation for helicopters which are not fitted with a mechanical stabiliser bar (flybar). This applies, for example, to some scale machines and helicopters with multi-blade rotor heads. This special attitude-holding stabilisation reliably prevents the characteristic tendency of "flybar-less" rotor heads to balloon up abruptly.

Model helicopters with a rigid head are more agile, contain fewer parts and consume less motor power. The HeliCommand "Rigid" offers a broad field for experimentation in the future.

Note: the PC Adaptor, No. 84942000, is absolutely essential for setting up the HeliCommand Rigid. Without the adaptor the unit can only be used in the same way as the HeliCommand 3-D.

The ds760 is a high specification model helicopter gyro capable of delivering the highest standards of performance. At its heart a premium quality Silicon Micro Machined (SMM) sensor and powerful Digital Signal Controller together with Spartan RC’s adaptive control algorithms offer exceptionally consistent yaw rates that remain unaffected by outside variables like the helicopter’s rotor head speed, rotor disc loading, flight speed, wind, etc. This is a significant feature that not many gyros are capable of and is a necessity for doing complex pirouetting 3D manoeuvres. The gain can be adjusted to a high level of holding power without experiencing issues with tail oscillation (hunting). The holding ability of the gyro is excellent and precise giving a very solid feel. The stopping characteristics give a nice soft but precise response with no bounce back.

Many Spartan products benefit from computer connectivity capabilities for the purpose of modifying their configuration parameters or updating their firmware when improvements are made. To take advantage of these features an optional Flash-Link is required.

This is a combined package including a CSM Cyclock Unit, 2 x CSM SL720 Heading Lock Gyros & a USB PC Interface for programming. This gives you the complete electronics you require to handle a V-Bar setup. Photo Only shows the Cyclock.

Suitable for all other digital servos but for optimum performance a servo with a speed better than 0.1s is recommended.

The well estabilished/proven Futaba GY611 has just got better with the addition of the new Futaba Brushless BL251 Servo.

JR’s latest gyro is neatly wrapped in a full metal jacket. The metal case offers improved shielding against electromagnetic interference, especially that generated by electric motors and speed controllers. This makes it a good choice for use in electric helis of all sizes. Works great in IC models too!

For best performance use with a DS8900G servo. For small & medium size electric models, use a DS3405 (re-badged as the DS3400G in the USA).

Other features include Auto Trim which automatically compensates for any differance in trim between Normal & Tail Lock modes. Tail Lock can also be selected remotely from the transmitter, & the tail lock efficiency can be adjusted at the Tx too.
